SHUTTER|Bag | Australian Designed Camera BagsJanuary 13, 2012, 3:22 pm Posted in Brisbane Photographer (you can see the kids were quite smitten with my bag as well :) Lookee what arrived at my front door this morning! I literally stumbled across these new camera bags on Facebook about a month ago and immediately fell in love. When I found out they were designed by an Aussie, AND made from genuine leather, well, I just had to have one. Now I don't use a small point and shoot for general everyday shots of my kids, I've kinda become used to lugging my big Canon 5DMKII around with me, I'm really lucky it's never sustained any damage from bouncing around in my regular handbag. With the Safari from SHUTTER|bag, I not only have a safe place to store my camera gear, it has plenty of room for everything else (ie nappies, wipes, toys and my laptop!) So many handy compartments, I think I'm going to need to find more things to lug around with me :) I was so excited about finally finding a stylish, Australian designed bag, I contacted SHUTTER|bag and asked if they would consider becoming vendors for my newborn posing workshops in 2012. I'm thrilled to announce they are indeed on board, and will be offering discounts to each attendee and I'll be giving away one of these bags to one lucky photographer as well! (keep you eyes peeled for that, you won't want to miss it!!) And to boot, at the moment, you can order your own Safari at 15% off using the code NYE2012 when purchasing from the facebook page.

Happy New Year!January 1, 2012, 9:17 am Posted in Personal We are loving life in Kingscliff! It's hard to believe that our baby girl will be joining our family in around 4 weeks time, we are so excited to meet her. The last day of 2011 was spent flying kites down the beach and I took advantage of the fact that my girls were happy to have their photos taken :) January brings the Photo A Day project again and you can follow along on the facebook page, I'll be attempting to capture our life, one image each day - it's always a challenge, especially with two under 4 but it's a lot of fun too. I am getting quite a few inquiries for 2012 babies, at the moment I am unsure exactly when sessions will resume but I'd say by May I should be back into the swing of things. I am however looking for newborn models for our 2012 workshops so if you are due around the times below, please get in touch, it's a great chance to take advantage of a free session and prints. Sydney newborn models: please contact me if you are due mid March Melbourne newborn models: please contact me if you are due early April Gold Coast/Byron Bay newborn models: please contact me if you are due late April Perth newborn models: please contact me if you are due early May Brisbane newborn models: please contact me if you are due early June

Newborn Basics: A video for PhotographersDecember 2, 2011, 12:08 pm Posted in Brisbane Newborn Photographer It's so encouraging to hear all the great reviews about the Newborn Basics video I produced earlier this year. Shoot Baby has just published a lovely review here: http://www.shootbaby.com.au/blog/?p=787 on the video and to coincide, I've just reduced the price by $50 for the month of December (early Christmas present anyone?) The video is aimed at those just starting out in newborn photography but has plenty of tips and tricks from posing to post processing in Photoshop for more advanced photographers as well. One question I keep getting is 'when is the next installment coming out??' Soon, soon :) once I get settled with bub #3 early next year I'll aim to release another video with more advanced posing techniques using props, lots more post processing in Photoshop and focusing on capturing those must-have shots with parents, siblings and families. In the meantime, if the Basics video is something you've had on your wishlist for some time now, you'd best get a wiggle on and save $50 while you're at it :)

We're Here!November 16, 2011, 8:10 am Posted in Personal I'm drowning in empty packing boxes and finding things I had forgotten we even owned, getting used to the new sounds of our house (mostly stillness, the odd twittering bird and constant rolling waves from the ocean) Justin just came back from a quick swim at the beach before work - I still can't believe we're here. I drove out to my visit with my midwife at Murwillumbah Hospital yesterday passing sugar cane fields and following a beautiful river, the hospital is situated up high on a hill past the centre of town. There's no huge carpark or automatic doors, the elevator I'm sure was installed in 1940, and there are just two birthing rooms - it's so different from our life in the city! I am still unpacking the office and studio things so if you are waiting for a return email from me, I promise I'll get there soon!

packing packing packingNovember 8, 2011, 3:36 pm Posted in Brisbane Newborn Photographer I thought I would just take a quick break from packing to come and share a divine little image captured this past weekend at the Baby As Art workshop in Melbourne that I was lucky enough to attend. And a little side note.... I'll be stocking these wraps for photographers very very soon so keep your eyes peeled! I'm currently surrounded by moving boxes (we leave for Kingscliff first thing Thursday morning) so things will be a little quiet around here for the next week or so. I have one final Little Posers Newborn Posing workshop in Brisbane on the 17th with 12 lovely photographers so I'll make sure I pop back in share some of those images!
